Homebound:  A Play for Nobody

CHICAGO - Ever been haunted by something? Ever struggle to let go of the past? Ever feel as though you were a nobody? You're not alone. A young girl struggles with these exact issues. She is haunted by the embarrassment of being a bit different. She holds on to the pain of humiliating experiences in the past. To top it all off, she refers to herself as Nobody.

This 60 minute play is a small look into the world of childhood depression and how crippling of a force it can be. Its a powerful piece that illustrates how real of an effect depression can have on a person. Come show your support for all those who suffer from this very real illness. Too often it is passed aside as they're just sad. Depression is real it can be devastating not only for those who suffer from it but the friends and families of those afflicted.

Come watch an aspiring story of how one nobody becomes one very important somebody.

Homebound was originally produced in Knoxville, TN in the University's Lab Theatre. We are excited to bring it to Chicago for its professional debut. It was received with much praise and heartfelt response. One audience member contacted the author with how this show showed her she could make it through the day living with her issues. It showed her that help is required, it cannot be beaten on its own. We hope that it will have the same effect here, saving just one person is a success.
