The Chicago Casual Traveler: Kane County Cougars, Geneva, IL (Kane County)

Destination of the Day: Kane County Cougars, Geneva, IL (Kane County)

The Kane County Cougars, affiliate of the Kansas City Royals, is just one of many minor and independent league baseball teams in the Chicago region. Unfortunately for the public transit user the team is the one of the most difficult to visit due to the stadium's location across the river from the METRA station. This Midwest League-Western Division team has started this season in the basement, but remember, it is just the beginning of the season. The Cougars have an extended home stand this week with games against the Burlington Bees (April 18-20) and the Clinton Lumber Kings (April 21-23).
